An Air Force veteran, Cheryl Payne, completed her degree in Information Management Systems and worked as a computer programmer, which satisfied her desires to solve problems, but not her creativity.  Her love for textiles, colors, putting textiles and patterns together for both clothing and home decor pushed her to pursue her graduate degree in Interior Design, acquired at Drexel University in Philadelphia, PA. Her military travels, study abroad program and personal travels took her to  different countries touring historical and modern architecture.

Cheryl's favorite architect/designer is Alvar Aalto who was born in Finland.  His approach to design was holistic; he considered the exteriors and interiors of each structure, furniture, textiles and other finishes with great attention to details. Her design approach has been influenced by Mr Aalto, nothing is coincidental but intentional.  She also incorporates organic textures when possible because of her interest in biophilic design as she brings nature into the built environment.
